posted on 04-12-2009, at 21:4 I took my hollydays in Ruoms/France in June09. At a camping with a lot of acacia trees, I heard a birdsong which I could not identify but did not see the bird. Is there anyone who can help me to find which bird was singing ? Many thanks |

posted on 05-12-2009, at 16:48 Hello, Stuart. , Thanks for reply. However the sound was repeated hundreds of times exactly in the same way, with the same notes, there was no variation at all, each time ending with the same note. I never heard such standard in the sound of Blackcaps. But maybe you are wright ... Best regards Alex |

posted on 05-12-2009, at 17:59 Hi, I have heard Blackcaps in France (and UK) doing this repeated type of song in June before. The spectogram matches well too with other Blackcap recordings. Hope we get some other opinions on this too. |

posted on 15-12-2009, at 13:48 In South Western Germany where I live the Blackcaps have a fairly similar type of song - very tuneful but with only little variation. The quality and colour of tone also sounds typically Blackcap-like to me. Best wishes Claus |
